Second Lawsuit Filed in Texas Dump Truck Crash

The driver of a dump truck that crashed into the intersection in Texas has now filed a lawsuit against his employer. The truck driver was driving the truck when the brakes failed causing him to crash in to several vehicles before driving off a cliff.

His lawsuit alleges that his employer failed to maintain the truck prior to the crash. The lawsuit claims that his employer was “negligent in retaining an unlicensed mechanic” and therefore the trucks were not properly repaired, inspected or maintained. The lawsuit also claims that this negligence caused both the crash and his injuries.

The Texas Department of Transportation investigation concluded that the crash was caused by defective brakes and unsafe speed.
