One of two female patients who were sexually assaulted by an Ohio orthopedist has filed a civil lawsuit against him and his former practice. The orthopedist was convicted in criminal court on two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of tampering with records for events that occurred in his office. The civil lawsuit seeks to obtain punitive damages.
The victim claimed in her lawsuit that doctor spoiled evidence when he changed her medical records. The lawsuit also alleges that the doctor committed medical malpractice and battery when he pulled down her pants and underwear after instructing her to bend over and touch her toes during her medical exam. The lawsuit further claims the doctor “pulled down her bra strap, exposed her left breast and pushed, squeezed, and cupped her left breast. He repeated that twice more.”
