Eric Lemont Higdon, 17, is the son of a former employee at a child day care center of Jefferson County in Alabama. On August 31 he was been arrested on multiple charges of child sexual abuse towards the little children there at the day care. Facing charges as an adult, he is being accused of two counts of sodomy in the first degree because his victims were under the age of 12 years old though on September 2 he posted for bond at $150,000. Reports share that the reasons for his father being dismissed from the day care center in the past are unknown, though the police share that the accused family has not been cooperative at all with the investigations.
The investigations on Higdon began early in August, after a mother reported that her son was inappropriately touching another family member. She explains that when she addressed her 5-year-old son about why he was touching the other, he said it was because “the man at the day care center did that to him.” Once the news came from this parent, the police conducted an investigation within the entire day care center to find out that the young man had touched multiple little children between the ages of 3-5.
Sexual abuse is something that no child should be forced to experience, it is an event that can scar them for the rest of their lives and confuse them as to what is right and wrong, as was seen in the little boy who began touching another child.
