Reports indicate that authorities in Alameda County arrested a young mother for raising her toddler in dangerous conditions. Her property was discovered to harbor multiple hazards, which officers found after they were called to investigate a dog bite attack. Both the 2-year-old boy's father, 36-year-old J.L.P., and his wife, 30-year-old B.G, have been charged with child endangerment as a result. Last week the toddler was bitten in the chest and the head by the family dog, a German Shepherd-pit bull mix. While the father remains behind bars in lieu of $100,000 bail, the mother was released early due to a serious cut on her hand she sustained while trying to save her son from the family dog.
When the authorities arrived at the property, they found dirty dishes, feces and regular household chemicals within easy reach of the toddler. Right now, the victim is currently being treated at an area hospital for his serious wounds, but he is expected to survive and make a full recovery.
