A car accident in North Carolina took the life of one and seriously injured another last week. The surviving victim is currently being treated at a trauma center in Baltimore for multiple injuries. Police were called to the scene of the car accident around 3:20 a.m. last Tuesday. Initial reports show that the man was attempting to navigate a turn but lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle flew off the roadway, overturned and landed in a field adjacent to the highway. The driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old R.C.S., was declared dead on the scene.
His sole passenger, 21-year-old K.M.G., was taken by medical helicopter to a trauma center. At this time, police believe that speed is the primary cause of this fatal car accident. It appears as though the driver was wearing his seat belt while his passenger was not. Police are waiting on the coroner's report to determine cause of death for the driver.
