Truck Driver Suffered Heart Attack Prior to Collision

Police have determined that a truck driver suffered a heart attack directly before his fatal truck accident. The 62-year-old North Carolina man was driving near Blacksburg when he suddenly drove off the roadway. When police arrived on the scene of the accident, they found the tractor-trailer completely off of the highway. Eyewitness reports show that the truck started to weave across the road, struck a guardrail, and then went 40 feet into an embankment. Even though the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time, the impact of the crash coupled with the heart attack led to his death.

News sources say that he was the only person affected by the fatal truck accident. However, it took several hours for police and emergency road crews to clear the wreckage and investigate the scene.
