Police are investigating the single-auto accident that took the life of a woman in North Carolina. Although the investigation has not been completed, initial reports show that alcohol is likely to blame.
When police showed up on the scene of the auto accident, they found a SUV overturned on the highway. The passenger of the vehicle, a 47-year-old woman, was killed immediately. The 42-year-old driver of the vehicle was transported by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
Based on evidence recovered at the scene and from the driver, police have charged the man with reckless driving and driving under the influence. Eyewitness reports state that the SUV was heading down the highway when it started to swerve across the road. It hit the center median and then overturned, causing the fatal injuries to the passenger.
