Police have completed their investigation of a drunk driving accident that involved a state representative. The man who caused the accident was found to have had a blood-alcohol limit that was three times the legal limit.
The accident happened in North Carolina last month. The 54-year-old victim was driving on a local roadway when his vehicle drifted over the centerline. He struck the vehicle carrying the state representative, causing minor injuries. The impaired driver, however, caused himself fatal injuries. Police questioned whether the accident could have been avoided if the driver had not been intoxicated but determined that it is not relevant to the case.
