The construction accident that happened at the Grafton High School site is now under investigation by the Springfield office of the Occupation Safety and Health Administration.
The incident, which happened last Tuesday, involved a worker falling from a second-story landing at the high school. He was quickly transported to the trauma unit of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center; his injuries have yet to be reported.
As with any serious construction accident, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration sent out a representative to investigate the accident further. This person will interview those persons on the scene and examine the construction site to see if any violations to building code could have caused the accident. Based on these findings, OSHA could hand out citations to the building company.
