The Boy Scouts of America find themselves in the middle of a serious lawsuit against the same legal team that won against them last year.
A man who claims that he was sexually abused by a Scout leader during the 70's is now seeking damages against the organization. The victim, known as Z.K., states that he was either 14 or 15 when Scoutmaster Gregory Benson sexually assaulted him. Benson cannot speak for himself about the incident as he has already passed away.
Z.K.'s legal team is seeking $5.5 million in damages, a charge for which the Boy Scouts of America has yet to comment on. This follows several other cases against the group for similar charges. The organization has only stated that it works hard to protect children and screens the volunteers who want to join the organization. This includes a review of local and national background checks before permitting someone to become a leader.
