Worker Loses Life While On the Job

A man in Asheville lost his life last week while working at the Institution Food House.

According to police reports, 49-year-old Jerry Whitman was working near the loading dock at IFH when a tractor-trailer carrying Pepsi products, in reverse, struck him. Although emergency personnel quickly arrived on the scene, Whitman was pronounced dead on the loading dock.

At this time, the Asheville police traffic safety unit is completing their investigation of the fatal truck accident. They are utilizing surveillance video from the loading dock area to complete their reports. The driver's name has yet to be released to the public.

When you have been injured on the job, there is no time to waste in contacting a North Carolina personal injury lawyer. You may be eligible for worker's compensation and much more, but you will need an attorney to fight for you in and out of the courtroom.
