The tour ended short for a group of Asian tourists involved in a fatal truck accident.
Police reports show that a tour bus traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike rear-ended a flatbed trailer. As a result, the bus driver lost his life, while two dozen passengers were injured. According to the Westmoreland County Coroner, the driver was Bo Hua Tan, 29, of New York City. The bus was operated by Ho Charter Service of Bethlehem; the destination of the bus has not been released.
The passengers received varying degrees of injuries, with one person being so severely injured as to necessitate a helicopter ride to Conemaugh Hospital. The remaining passengers were treated at either Somerset Hospital or Frick Hospital. The truck driver complained of only minor injuries.
