Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Accident

Washington State Patrol troopers had their hands full last weekend when a semi-truck crossed the center divider, hit a car and killed the driver.

According to police reports the victim, 60-year-old Lawrence Volker, lost his life upon impact. Traveling with him was wife Brenda Walker, 59, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, officers are still investigating the accident, and have yet to determine the cause. They do believe that the driver, Stephen Gallant, lost control of the truck.

Sgt. Jody Metz spoke with the press shortly after, stating that "right now, we're doing out on-scene investigation, and we'll go back and we'll do witnesses and we'll do basically a collision reconstruction to determine what exactly happened today."
