According to official police reports, officers were pursuing two people who had stolen a motorcycle. While searching for the two suspects, the victim was standing by his van when officers questioned him. The police dog that was accompanying them, however, took the interrogation into his own paws and started biting the man for nearly three minutes.
As a result of the incident, the man sustained multiple injuries from the dog's bites. He decided to file a claim against the city because he said the officers' were negligent. This week, his settlement was approved and he was awarded damages for his wounds, pain and suffering.
