When crews worked to build a cinderblock wall in Queens last week, three men were injured and another killed on the job.
They were working on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst when scaffolding fell on the wall. The men had been pouring cement on the wall which then collapsed onto them. Emergency crews were called in around 10 a.m., according to a fire department spokesman, and they transported all four men to Elmhurst Hospital.
Three of the men were seriously injured, having sustained fractures and trauma, while the young man who died was just 26-years-old.
The fire department spokesman was unable to say what type of building was being erected at the site of the construction accident.
