BCI Coca-Cola Going to Court Over Slip & Fall Case

Another slip and fall case goes to court this week, this time against BCI Coca-Cola.

Records held at the Pima County Superior Court show that while shopping at a local Fry's Food and Drug, a woman injured herself on water that had leaked from a refrigerator. This unit is owned by BCI Coca-Cola Bottling Company, placing the blame solely on them. However, the suit did not initially place the blame on BCI Coca-Cola, but rather the grocery store. After reviewing service records provided by the store, the blame was shifted to BCI Coca-Cola who had known about the leaking unit for two years and did nothing to fix it.

As a result of her slip and fall accident, the woman suffered a herniated disk, which later required surgery. In addition, she has suffered from chronic pain since the accident. When BCI refused to settle with the injured kindergarten teacher, Hollingsworth Kelly Law Firm stepped in to handle the case. After deliberating for three hours, the jury awarded the victim $1.5 million.
